Dr. Matthew Casavant belives the patient/physician relationship is a partnership and strives to create an environment that relays the importance of active listening and open communication.
Dr. Casavant works diligently to educate himself and his patients on the best diagnostic, medical, and surgical options available. Because he feels so strongly about this, he works very hard at staying abreast of the latest medical advances in women's healthcare. Utilizing his extensive training in Osteopathic medicine, Dr. Casavant stresses the importance of preventative care, providing manytreatment options that help the body in its natural healing abilities. He believes that a holistic approach to medicine and Christian ideals can make a difference in the health of his patients. Dr. Casavant is a founding member of the South Lake Hospital OB/GYN Faculty, and is on staff at Health Central Hospital. He is very involved in community activities.
Originally from Rhode Island, Dr. Casavant was raised in Oviedo, Florida, graduated from UCF with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Micro and Molecular Biology, and received his medical degree from NSU-COM in South Florida. He completed his residency in OB/GYN at St. Vincent's/Mercy Hospital in Toledo, Ohio, where he received extensive training in advanced OB/GYN procedures.
